Mabel Koehn

Mabel Susie Koehn, 88, of McPherson, died Monday, September 19, 2005, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. She was born near Kismet, Kansas (Seward Co.) on October 3, 1916, to Carl J. and Lena (Wedel) Koehn. She was a McPherson County resident most of her life. She was a retired operator and clerk after 33 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone.

Mabel was a member of Telephone Pioneers, co-manager of Save-n-Share Store, treasurer for a number of church related organizations, volunteer for the VITA program at McPherson Senior Center, and McPherson High School Class of 1935.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2005, at the First Mennonite Church, McPherson. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: a brother, Robert Koehn of Austin, TX, a sister, Lila Koehn of McPherson, KS, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Valdo Koehn, Lloyd Koehn, and Nelson Koehn, and by a sister, Verna Dirks.
