With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Lyle “Daniel” Vogts, 36, of McPherson, Kansas on February 3, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi surrounded by family and friends.
Daniel was born on November 18, 1988, to Brad and Rita (Hardisty) Vogts at McPherson Hospital. Daniel lived on the farm his whole life. Daniel attended Inman schools and enjoyed playing t-ball as a youngster. At the age of 15, Daniel started his 21-year career at Louie’s Service Center. He started as a clean-up boy and progressed to the lead mechanic where he worked at the time of his death.
Daniel enjoyed fishing and hunting. However, the most important thing to Daniel was spending time with family. Daniel was one of the most giving, helpful persons that most of us have ever met. Even after death, he continued his giving ways by being an organ donor.
He loved working with his hands. If he wasn’t wrenching, you could find him working on various projects at the farm, from running the skid steer, splitting wood, or remodeling the house. Daniel was an old soul, and his music expressed this. His favorite collectables were tools, shot glasses, John Deere tractors, Dale Earnhardt Sr. memorabilia, and most important, guns.
Daniel will be deeply missed by his girlfriend “wifey” Jessica Wilson and step-son, Jeremy Wilson; father, Brad Vogts; sister, Kim Jarvis; nieces, Stephanie and Sophia Jarvis; “brother” Jesse Postier; “brother” Nick and his wife Charity Mattson; “brother” Matthew and his wife Melissa Lenherr; “sister” Molly and her husband Tyler Becker; and “sister” Dalton and her husband Tyler Achilles.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Rita; his sister, Ryan Michelle; paternal grandparents, Henry and Frieda Zismann; maternal grandparents and namesake, Lyle and Dorothy Hardisty.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2025, at Freedom Chapel, 1064 14th Avenue, McPherson, KS, with Pastor Rustan Foster officiating.
