Lorene Holloway

Lorene Eleanor Holloway, 84, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at the McPherson Care Center. Lorene was born on May 25, 1925, in Lehigh, KS, the daughter of Herbert and Bertha (Ollek) Weyand. She attended the Lehigh grade and high schools. On February 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Holloway, Sr. at Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2005. She worked as an egg candler and a housekeeper for a local motel until retirement in 1990.

Lorene was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, McPherson.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Dumperth officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to7:00 PM.

Survivors include: son, LeRoy Holloway, Jr. of McPherson, KS; daughter, Janis Kay Kelley of Garfield, KS; twin sister, Lenora Martens of McPherson, KS; brother, Gerald Weyand of Norton, KS; step-sister, Gloria Wolf of Wichita, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Elmer and Howard Weyand, two step-brothers, Marlin Steinle and Edwin Steinle, and a grandchild.
