Lorene Detour

Lorene Mae DeTour, 89, of Hutchinson and formerly of Dallas, Texas and McPherson, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at her home.

She was born August 30, 1916, in McPherson County. She was the daughter of Dana L. and Eva B. (Finkle) Voshell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, McPherson and American Legion Auxiliary Choir. She attended the McPherson schools and graduated with a teaching degree in 1939 from McPherson College.

Survivors include: her daughter, Janet DeTour of Hutchinson, KS; sons, Bob DeTour of Eldorado Hills, CA and Larry (Bat) DeTour of Wichita, KS; daughter-in-law, Elaine DeTour of Tucson, AZ; sister, Doris McGill of Lees Summit, Missouri; three grandchildren, Macy Peterson of Oklahoma City, OK, Kally Cunningham of Syracuse, NY, and Megan DeTour of Los Angeles, CA; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Rick DeTour, and a brother, Laverne M. "Tony" Voshell.

Graveside service and inurnment will be held at McPherson Cemetery, Friday, October 14, 2005, at 1:30 PM. There will be no visitation.
