Loreen F. Gayer, 80, of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. She was a homemaker, school teacher in Walton, KS, and teacher’s aide in Buhler, KS and Inman, KS.
Loreen was born on December 21, 1934, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Clyde L. and Neva M. (Yoder) Cline. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1952 and McPherson College in 1955. On April 3, 1954, Loreen was united in marriage to Glenn W. Gayer in Conway, KS.
She was a member of McPherson Church of the Brethren where she was active on various church committees.
Survivors include: husband, Glenn of the home; sons, Doug Gayer and wife, Tamara, of McPherson, KS and Todd Gayer and wife, Sonja, of Hugoton, KS; daughter, Michelle Faul and husband, Doug, of Hillsboro, KS; six grandchildren, Chad Gayer, Amanda Brown and husband, Spencer, Mark Gayer and wife, Megan, Allie Faul, Jordon Faul, and Caleb Gayer; and one great-grandchild, Beniah Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Neva, sister, Delma Miller, grandson, Cole Gayer, and step-mother, Edith Cline.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 9, 2015, at McPherson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Chris Whitacre and Rev. Kathryn Whitacre officiating. Inurnment will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 8, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
