Lonnie Lee Lemon, 68, of rural Tampa, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019, surrounded by family at his home. He was a foreman at Plains Plastics in McPherson, KS, a millwright at Kraft Welding, and a truck driver and millwright at Cargill. He also worked for McPherson Concrete Products.
Lonnie was born on June 11, 1950, in Winfield, KS, the son of Ralph Perry and Lois Marie (Adams) Lemon. He attended Winfield High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Brown Mackie Business College in Salina. Lonnie was united in marriage to Martha “Marty” Dianne Harmon on November 23, 1968, in Winfield, KS.
He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop 130, McPherson and Unit Commissioner for Quivira Council, BSA.
Survivors include: his wife, Marty of the home; three sons, Kevin Lemon (Lisa) of rural Tampa, KS, Jeffrey Lemon of Newton, IA, and John Lemon (Dawn) of McPherson, KS; nine grandchildren, Britany, Callie, Cheyenne, David, Dakota, Jeffrey, Raymond, Josephine, and Lilly Lemon; sister-in-law, Hannah Cochran of Kenton, DE; and brother-in-law, James Schroeder of Canton, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Cora Lemon; siblings, Ray Arthur Lemon, Kenny Lemon, Howard Lemon, Bob Lemon, and Esta Schroeder; and great-grandson, Keagan James Lemon.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 13, at Udall Cemetery in Udall, KS.
