Lois Loy

Lois Aileen Loy, 80, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at her home.  

Lois was born on June 17, 1943, in Concordia, MO, the daughter of Herbert A. and Esther A. (Kiehl) Wolpers. She graduated as valedictorian from Blackburn High School in 1961.  She graduated from Central Missouri State College in 1965 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  On July 3, 1965, Lois was united in marriage to Brock Wayne Loy in Blackburn, MO.  This union was blessed with three sons, David, Stephen, and Andrew.

She was a speech pathologist at the public schools in Raytown, MO and was a case manager for Multi-Community Diversified Services in McPherson. Lois was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church, McPherson.  She was also a member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Wayne Loy; three sons, David (Mary) Loy of Irvine, CA, Stephen (Jen) Loy of Topeka, KS, and Andrew (Rebecca) Loy of McPherson, KS; sister, Elaine Schroeder of Concordia, MO; brother, Leslie (Margaret) Wolpers of Olathe, KS; ten grandchildren, Nathan, Catherine, Jonathan, Benjamin, Tyler, Emily, Ayden, Asher, Emmalyn, and Maya; five nieces & one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, January 26, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 27, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Dumperth officiating.  Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
