Lisa Waldhauer

Lisa S. Waldhauer, 45, of McPherson and formerly of Findlay, Ohio, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Memorial Hosptial, McPherson.

She was the daughter of John D. and Janet Marie (Mundell) Smedley. She was born in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. She graduated from Battery Creek High School in 1979 in Beaufort, SC and graduated from Clemson University in 1983. She was a McPherson High School teacher, having taught government and U.S. History II.

On June 25, 1983, she was united in marriage to Kurt E. Waldhauer at Beaufort, SC. She has been a McPherson resident since 2001, moving from Findlay, Ohio. She was a CASA Board Member, member of the Site Council at McPherson High School, and had served as an advisor for STUGO and for KAYS.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson with Rev. Harry Grinstad officating. Burial will take place at Beaufort, South Carolina at a later date. Visitation will take place from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The casket will remain closed.

Survivors include: her husband, Kurt of the home; her father, John D. Smedley of Swansboro, NC; brothers, John Smedley, Jr. of Raleigh, NC and Mark Smedley of Florida; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Karl & Setsuko Waldhauer of Beaufort, SC, two nieces & two nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
