Lila A. Koehn

Lila A. Koehn, 92, of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a school teacher and taught at several country schools in McPherson County and at Washington Elementary School in McPherson.

Lila was born on August 9, 1922, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Carl J. and Lena (Wedel) Koehn. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1940, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bethel College, and also attended Emporia State Teacher’s College.

She was a member of First Mennonite Church, KNEA, and Delta Kappa Gamma.

Survivors include: a brother, Robert Koehn of Austin, TX and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Valdo Koehn, Lloyd Koehn, and Nelson Koehn, and sisters, Verna Dirks and Mabel Koehn.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at First Mennonite Church with Rev. Kathy Neufeld Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, April 6, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
