Leroy F. Pell

Leroy Frederick Pell, 81, of McPherson and formerly of Portland, OR and Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital.

Leroy was born on September 22, 1934, in Sturgis, SD, the son of Floyd Roy and Margaret Helen (Friehauf) Pell. He was a former school teacher and owned & operated a deli in Portland, OR. Leroy was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, McPherson. Leroy enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit 64 foreign countries. He was also an avid collector of music, stamps, and fine art. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include: his loving sister, Irene Clausen of McPherson, KS; several nieces, nephews, & cousins; and a host of friends.

Inurnment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery in South Dakota.
