Leota L. Williams, 97, of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, KS. Leota was born on November 13, 1911, the daughter of August H. and Johanna G. (Grunner) Knackstedt. She graduated from Windom High School. On September 2, 1933, Leota was united in marriage to Carl D. Williams in Little River, KS. She was a homemaker and former co-owner of Carl's Cash Market in McPherson, KS.
Leota was a member of the First United Methodist Church, McPherson.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Marion officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Survivors include: sons, Sheldon C. Williams and wife, Barbara, of Reston, VA, Rodney L. Williams and wife, Barbara, of McPherson, KS, and LaVerne A. Williams of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl D. Williams on May 6, 1998, a son, Gerald D. Williams, two brothers, Harold A. Knackstedt and Delmer R. Knackstedt, and two sisters, Dorothy Lindholm and Laberta Lindquist.
