Leola Watson

Leola J. Watson, 69, of McPherson and formerly of Sylvania, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at McPherson Care Center. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and had primarily worked in long-term care facilities.

She was born August 27, 1942, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas M. and Rula J. (Goss) Manis. On October 18, 1968, she married DeWayne L. Watson, Jr. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2001.

Survivors include: a daughter: Shani Watson-Harmdierks (Adam) of McPherson, KS; three sons, Fredrick Bassett (Lori) of Greenville, MI, Clifford Bassett of Springfield, IN, and DeWayne L. Watson, III, (Trisha) of Woodland, MI; a niece, Billie Bryant of McPherson, KS; and nine grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
