Lee Buehrle, 93, of McPherson, KS, and formerly of Salina, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She worked as a secretary at Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Atwood and was an office manager for Marietta, Kellogg & Price Law Office in Salina.
Lee was born on April 24, 1930, in Atwood, KS, the daughter of Herman Mark and Charlotte V. (Shaffer) Rummel. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1948 and attended Fort Hays State University. On July 31, 1948, Lee was united in marriage to John G. Buehrle in Ellsworth, KS. This union was blessed with two children, Karen and John, II. Lee and John were married for 53 years prior to his passing on May 24, 2002.
Lee bowled in a competitive league in Atwood and was a member of the TOPS Club and KOPS Club in Salina.
Survivors include: two children, Karen Parsons (Daryl) of Burden, KS and John Buehrle, II (DeeAnn) of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren, Gail Bailey (Bryan), Scott Parsons (Lyndsay), Laura Stapleton, Sarah Buehrle Gunay (Ziya Gunay), and John Buehrle, III (Justine); nine great-grandchildren, Brice Bailey (Shelby), Taylor Buehrle, Daisy Parsons, Gunnar Parsons, Hailey Stapleton, Morgan Stapleton, Colin Stapleton, Ragan Stapleton, and Leo Gunay; two great-great-grandchildren, Darrel Bailey and Brylee Bailey; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Maxine Draper, Floyd Rummel, Carlyle Rummel, and Herman Vern Rummel.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
