Laurence Clark

Laurence A. "Larry" Clark, 82, of McPherson, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at his home in McPherson. Larry was born on March 15, 1927, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Lawrence A. and Sarah Bessie (Conard) Clark. He attended Central College of McPherson. On May 20, 1967, he was united in marriage to Jean (Howell) Taylor in McPherson, KS. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a retired superintendent of purchasing for Pyle Construction Co., working there from 1948 to 1991.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the McPherson Free Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Griffith, Rev. Deborah Somerville, and Rev. Ron Clark officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #24 and the VFW Post #2715. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:30 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Jean of the home; son, Randy Clark and wife, Dana, of McPherson, KS; daughters, Pam Clark and husband, Tracy Schmidt, of McPherson, KS and Cathy Stockham and husband, Quentin, of Ash Grove, MO, and Sandy Clark of South Hutchinson, KS; brother, Ron Clark and wife, Letha, of Karval, CO; sisters, Jueene Zortman and husband, Ed, of Canon City, CO and Donna Hadley and husband, Curtis, of Collinsville, OK; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
