Larry Dee Becker

Larry Dee Becker, 86, of Canton, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021, surrounded by family at Riverview Estates, Marquette. He was a farmer and dairyman. He also worked in maintenance at Central Plastics and in the oil fields as a driller and roughneck.

Larry was born on January 16, 1935, in McPherson, KS, the son of Kermit P. and Sophia C. (Unruh) Becker. On October 6, 1957, Larry was united in marriage to Goldie Marie Clarkson in Larned, KS. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2013.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Canton American Legion and McPherson V.F.W. He attended Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: four children, Reba Becker (Duane) of Lindsborg, KS, Stephanie Becker (Eric Peterson) of Olathe, KS, Justin Becker of Canton, KS, and Denise Taylor (Mike) of Canton, KS; siblings, Marion Becker (Carolyn) of Montezuma, KS, Gordon Becker (Carolyn) of Kirksey, KY, and Dale Becker (Joyce) of Siloam Springs, AR; a granddaughter, Monica Diederich; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Taylor and Holly Leiker; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and daughter, Anna Christine Becker.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 7, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Jon Black officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Canton Township Cemetery.
