Dr. Kent E. Noffsinger, 64, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was a retired College Professor, teaching physics and chemistry at McPherson College and physics and math at Central Christian College of Kansas.
Kent was born January 1, 1947, in Troy, Ohio, the son of Roy and Martha M. (Coppock) Noffsinger. He graduated from Tippecanoe High School in Tipp City, OH. He was a McPherson resident since 1995, formerly of Kennewick, WA and Tipp City, OH. He was united in marriage to Faye Ann Addington on April 28, 1975, in Buffalo, WY. He was a member of the McPherson Free Methodist Church.
Dr. Noffsinger was a U.S. Navy veteran, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the Free Methodist Church, McPherson with Rev. Deborah Somerville and Rev. Tom Mayse officiating.
Survivors include: his wife, Faye of the home; sons, Jesse Noffsinger (Abigail Daane) of Seattle, WA and David Noffsinger of Nashville, TN; daughter, Katy Noffsinger-Gunneman (Nathan) of Siloam Springs, AR; his mother, Martha Roberts of Tipp City, OH; brother, Ken Noffsinger of Tipp City, OH; mother-in-law, Janell Addington of McPherson, KS; and grandchildren, Braxton, TeAnna, and Logan Gunneman of Siloam Springs, AR. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Noffsinger.
