Kenneth Armbrust

Kenneth D. Armbrust, 92, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.  He was an electrician, working at Cessna in Hutchinson and Johns Manville in McPherson.

Kenneth was born on July 26, 1931, in Claflin, KS, the son of William Henry and Wilhelmina Julianna (Lubinus) Armbrust.  He graduated from Claflin High School in 1949 and attended Kansas State University.  On November 10, 1953, Ken was united in marriage to Maxine Sallee in St. John, KS.  They were married for 68 years prior to her passing on December 5, 2021. 

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church.  He was a longtime Red Cross volunteer, a Scoutmaster, and a volunteer fireman.

Survivors include: a son, Jim Armbrust (Gerry) of McPherson, KS; two daughters, Patty Armbrust of Wichita, KS and Cindy Ledbetter (Charles) of Mustang, OK; a brother, Bob Armbrust (Barbara) of Hutchinson, KS; sisters-in-law, Kay Armbrust-Feist of Arkansas, City, KS and Roberta Sallee of South Hutchinson, KS; nine grandchildren, Jenny Epp, Kenny Armbrust, Angie Carbajal (Raul), Chris Ledbetter (Haley), Matthew Ledbetter (Jessica), Heather Ledbetter, Gill Ledbetter, Derek Borth (Claudia), and Jessica Morrell (Troy); and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Ron Armbrust; son, Kirby Armbrust; and grandson, Charlie Ledbetter.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until service time, Tuesday, at the church.  Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
