June M. Anderson

June M. Anderson, 93, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018, surrounded by family at Angel Arms, McPherson.

She was born on May 29, 1925, in Galva, KS, the daughter of Henry William and Selma (Hanson) Besecker. June was baptized on January 10, 1937, and confirmed on March 19, 1940. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1943. June was united in marriage to Robert A. Anderson on February 4, 1946, in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1993.

June was a member of New Gottland Lutheran Church, McPherson Hospital Volunteer Services, McPherson Tree Board, Bethany Home Auxiliary, Lions Club, Melvin Jones Fellowship, American Legion Auxiliary #24, and V.F.W. Auxiliary #2715. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, served on the Bethany Home Board, and was treasurer of WELCA-Central States.

Survivors include: daughter, JaNeva D’Amico of McPherson, KS; son, Ronald Anderson and wife, Deborah, of McPherson, KS; daughter-in-law, Denize Anderson of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, Pearl Besecker of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Kurt (Angie) Johnston, Shawna Anderson, Kyle (Lisa) Johnston, Shad Anderson, Traci Anderson-Mork (Jeremy), and Eric Anderson; and seven great-grandchildren, Kole & Kaleigh Johnston, Kelsey, Rilynn, & Blade Anderson, Presleigh-Jo Mork, and Paige Ginardi.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Dennis Wayne Anderson; and brother, William “Bud” Besecker.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 29, at New Gottland Lutheran Church with Rev. Harry Grinstad officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson.
