Julia Grant-Akers

Julia R. Grant-Akers, 86, of McPherson, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Sterling House in McPherson. She was retired from Farmers Alliance Insurance Co., where she worked in the claims dept.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM

Survivors include: daughters, Linda Peterson (Fred E.) of McPherson, KS, Carolyn Goering (Fred J.) of Andover, KS, and Cheryl Grant of Denver, CO; three brothers, Richard Ballatore (Betty) of Belt, MT, Tony Ballatore (Lillian) of Salt Lake City, UT, and Frank Ballatore of Belt, MT; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Waldo C. "Swede" Grant and Charles Eldon Akers, and a sister, Josephine Hamil.
