Juanita Hawkinson

Juanita Hawkinson, 93, of Marquette, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Riverview Estates, Marquette. She was a homemaker.

Juanita was born on September 10, 1919, in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Earl N. and Eunice (Potter) Godfrey. She graduated from high school in Easton, KS. On April 16, 1938, she was united in marriage to Arthur E. Hawkinson in Medford, OK. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1984.

She was a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle, Q&E Club, and Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include: sons, Warren Hawkinson and wife, Phyllis, of McPherson, KS and Earl Hawkinson and wife, Connie, of Wichita, KS; daughters, Ardis Claypool of Marquette, KS and Linda Decker and husband, Richard, of Pittsfield, IL; daughter-in-law, Nola Hawkinson of Marquette, KS; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Gerald "Ted" Hawkinson, son-in-law, Richard Claypool, and granddaughter, Terri Ann Claypool.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Marquette United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Bever officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.
