Joyce Elaine Rickner, 92, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Regent Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Wichita. She was a homemaker.
Joyce was born on October 5, 1930, in Salem, Oregon, to Thomas and Goldie Pearl (Monroe) McLeod. She graduated from McPherson High School. On August 1, 1954, Joyce was united in marriage to Donald Keith Rickner in McPherson. This union was blessed with two daughters, Lori and Diane. Keith and Joyce were married for 64 years before his passing on September 12, 2018.
She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church, McPherson. She also was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Amity Friendship Club, Bridge Club and TOPS of McPherson.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lori Hurst (Randy) of Augusta, KS and Diane Rotha (Brent) of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, Mallory Grimmett (Will), Connor Hurst, Kaleigh Hartzler (Jared), Logan Rotha, and Macie Priddy (Kelly); seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Brayden, Atley, Avery, Kowen, Khloe, and Brylynn; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas McLeod and Harold & Goldie Stowe; husband, Keith Rickner; and three siblings, Leland McLeod, Shirley Siddens, and Merrill McLeod.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 20, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
