Joyce Lawless

Joyce L. (Unruh) Lawless, 77, of Galva, KS, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She farmed from 1955 to 1989; was a Dental Assistant from 1951 to 1953 & 1977 to 1997; was a cake decorator from the 1960's to 1980's; and most recently was a residential caregiver at Disability Supports and was the pianist & custodian at the Galva United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, McPherson. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Empire Cemetery, Galva, KS. A reception will be held at the Galva United Methodist Church following the burial.

Survivors include: four sons, Clifford Lawless (Caroline) of Galva, KS, Dave Lawless (Trina) of Galva, KS, John Henry Lawless (Sandy) of Canton, KS, and J.D. Lawless of Roxbury, KS; two daughters, Carla Bradshaw (Kevin) of McPherson, KS and Janet Mulch of McPherson, KS; a brother, Robert Unruh (Mary) of Canton, KS; sisters, LaVeda Regier (Charles) of McPherson, KS, Darlene Everhart of McPherson, KS, and Norma Mittelsteadt of Jamesville, MN; 15 grandchildren, Seth Bradshaw, Sarah Stone (Andrew), Hoyatte Harris, Jenny Hutson (Kelly), Christopher Lawless (Jami), Laurie Kitt (Charles), Samuel Bradshaw, Luke Lawless, Jacob Lawless, Andrew Mulch, Levi Lawless, Hunter Lawless, Josie Lawless, Leah Lawless, and Amy Mulch; 5 great-grandchildren, Victoria & Cade Harris, Jackson & Allie Stone, and Makenzie Jewell Hutson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave & Della (Decker) Unruh, husband, Carl J. Lawless, grandson, Carl John Lawless, brother, Roland Unruh, and brothers-in-law, Merlin Mittelsteadt and Richard Everhart.
