Joyce E. Johnson

Joyce E. Johnson was born to Sidney and Erma (Koehn) Unruh on January 21, 1938, in McPherson, KS. She passed away on March 22, 2016, at home in Inman, KS, reaching the age of just over 78 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Her childhood years were spent in the Galva-McPherson area. She received her formal education at Harmony School.

On October 13, 1957, she married Charles M. Johnson at the Lone Tree Church near Galva, KS.

Joyce spent many years working as a nurse, both at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS and the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, KS.

Survivors include: her husband, Charles of the home; three children, Vonda Johnson of Moundridge, KS, Daniel (Clara) Johnson of Inman, KS, and Gregg (Robin) Johnson of Inman, KS; three sisters, Carolyn (Gordon) Becker of Kirksey, KY, Arlene (Waldon) Ratzlaff of Moundridge, KS, and Bonnie (Steve) Koehn of Aberdeen, MS; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite Inman, KS. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at the church with family present from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
