Josette D. Nelson Hermosillo

Josette “Joey” Danielle Nelson-Hermosillo, 49, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at McPherson Hospital. She had worked as a CNA and CMA at White Cross Nursing Home and had worked in the kitchen at Bethany College.

Joey was born on August 22, 1969, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Richard and Danith (Johnson) Nelson. She attended Lindsborg High School. In 2009, Joey was united in marriage to Jesse E. Hermosillo.

Survivors include: her husband, Jesse Hermosillo of McPherson, KS; father, Richard Nelson (Ruthann) of McPherson, KS; son, Blake Alexander (Ameilea) of McPherson, KS; daughter, Stormy Nelson of Topeka, KS; sister, Monica Durst (Mitch) of Moundridge, KS; brother Darwin Nelson (Lorna) of McPherson, KS; step-siblings, Michelle Marceau of McPherson, KS, Angie Myers (Keith) of McPherson, KS, and Garry Beals (Delanya) of McPherson, KS; mother-in-law, Maria Ontiveros (Emilio) of McPherson, KS; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Gene Hermosillo of McPherson, KS, Joe Hermosillo of Wichita, KS, and Irma Chaput of McPherson, KS; two grandchildren, Chase Alexander and Serenity Paige Nelson; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, January 21, at Calvary Baptist Church, McPherson with Pastor Dan Cate officiating.
