John Lobb,

John D. Lobb, 92, of McPherson, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010, at his home in McPherson. He was a retired NASA engineer, having worked at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

John was born on January 17, 1918, in Yonkers, New York, the son of John David, Sr. and Edna (Klein) Lobb. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. On February 10, 1940, John was united in marriage to June A. Hoover in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2007.

John was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, McPherson Kiwanis Club, and the Gideons International.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 8, at McPherson Cemetery followed by a reception at the Calvary Baptist Church. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include: a son, Jim Lobb and wife, Joyce, of Tyler, TX; a daughter, Joanne Leppard and husband, Jeff, of Elkhart, TX; six grandchildren, Jeff Leppard, Jr., Kathie Leppard, John B. Leppard, Richard Lobb, Jamie Lobb, and Kristina Miles; nine great-grandchildren, Audrey Minchew, John Ward, Cloe Leppard, Sophia Leppard, Justin Garcia, Hannah Leppard, Tim Lobb, Nicholas Lobb, and Katherine Miles. He was preceded in death by his wife, June, and a sister, Dorothy Laben.
