Jimmie Goalden

Jimmie W. Goalden, 76, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita, KS. He was retired from Pioneer Telephone Company as the Central Office Manager in Hugoton, KS. He served in the United States Navy.

He was born on April 18, 1937, in Rozel, KS, the son of Alvis Oscar and Faye Marie (Elmore) Goalden. Jimmie graduated from Edson High School and Goodland Vocational-Technical School.

Jimmie married Eva Joan Crutz on August 9, 1958. On July 3, 1968, Jimmie was united in marriage to Linda R. Talley in Goodland, KS.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #407 in Hugoton, KS.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda of the home; a daughter, Mable Seibel (Kenny) of Happy, TX; three sons, Billie Goalden of Topeka, KS, Mike Goalden (Sonya) of Inman, KS, and Brad Goalden (Tyler Rasmussen) of Kansas City, KS; sister, Loretta Godbey (Tom) of Lakin, KS; brother, Randy Goalden (Mary Jane) of Selden, KS; six grandchildren, Jake Goalden, Kait Goalden, Cody Martin, Dustin Goalden, Scott Hayes, and Samantha Goalden; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alvis "Junior" Goalden and sister, Sandra Harper.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Godbey officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, Sept. 13, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
