Jerry Merrill

Jerry W. Merrill, 65, of Harrisonville, MO and formerly of McPherson, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Kansas City Hospice House (Kansas City, MO).

He was born January 26, 1947, in Hardtner, KS, the son of Ira Floyd and Vesta E. (Hilton) Merrill. While a McPherson resident, he worked for Kit Manufacturing and Road Ranger, Skyline Homes in Halstead, and Eaton Corporation in Hutchinson. He had been a resident of Harrisonville, MO since 2011.

Survivors include: his companion, Susan Hill of Harrisonville, MO; two sons, Shawn Merrill (Cherise) of Hutchinson, KS and Jarod Merrill of Wellington, KS; two daughters, Barbra Sauer (Rob) of Mount Hope, KS and Alexys Merrill of Harrisonville, MO; his mother, Vesta Merrill of McPherson, KS; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Merrill, a daughter, Jalane Nelson, and a brother, Terry Merrill.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Mayse will officiate the service. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. After the service, friends are invited to join the family for a reception at the Northgate Manor Clubhouse, 1442 Garden Lane, in McPherson.
