Jennette Anson

Jennette Elizabeth "Jean" Brewster Anson passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Scearle M. and Ethel Mae (Jennings) Brewster. She attended two years at the American International College in Springfield, MA. On March 18, 1944, she was united in marriage to Mark Richard Anson in London, England. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1984. She was a WWII veteran, serving in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and Women's Army Corps in the United States Army, serving from February 1943 to November 1945 in London and Paris. Jean lived in McPherson since 1983 and also lived in McPherson from 1946 to 1965. She formerly lived in Overland Park, Kansas.

Jean was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2715 and American Legion Post #24, both of McPherson.

The memorial service will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 2, 2009, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include: two daughters, Judi Shannon of Salina, KS and Robin Reed of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Jennifer Perry of Greensboro, NC, Barry Ladwig of McPherson, KS, Mark Reed of McPherson, KS, and Michael "J.R." Reed of McPherson, KS; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Mercedes Ladwig.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Richard Anson, and a grandson, Richard Wayne Shannon.
