Jay Willis Scott, 66, of Roxbury, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023, with his family at The Cedars Special Care Facility in McPherson. Jay owned and operated Scott’s Well Service and Scott’s Production for over 40 years.
Jay was born on December 17, 1956, in McPherson KS, the son of Aldon Wesley “Scottie” and Retha Lucy (Anderson) Scott. He graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1974.
Jay had a love for working in the oil field and tending for the town of Roxbury. He enjoyed gardening, BBQing, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include: one son, Brad (Jaime) Malm of McPherson, KS, and three daughters, Hollie (Bryan) Spencer of Topeka, KS, Lacey (Alex) Brooks of Lindsborg, KS, and Brittney (Kevin) Yoder of McPherson, KS; nine grandchildren, Faith, Emma, Adrian, Eva, Ashton, Hayden, Holden, Brooklynn, and Ella; three sisters, Janis Ellis of Lindsborg, KS, Jolene Hilty of McPherson, KS, and Jazell (Dennis) Bersuch of McPherson, KS; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jeff Scott; two sisters, Jennifer Jantz and Jill Scott; and niece, Devon Bersuch.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Valley View Memorial Cemetery in Roxbury with Pastor Jim Ostlund officiating. A luncheon and reception will follow at Scott’s Well Service, 110 N. Memory Lane, Roxbury, KS 67476.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Gentiva Hospice of McPherson in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
