Janel Johnson Embrey

Janel D. Johnson Embrey, 38, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at her home. She was a receptionist at Heartland Veterinary Clinic. She had also been the manager of the Pear Tree Restaurant for 13 years.

Janel was born on November 3, 1971, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Gary Dee Brooks and Margaret Ann Hazelton. She attended McPherson High School. On November 25, 2005, she was united in marriage to Dennis Lee Embrey in McPherson.

Janel was an honorary member of the McPherson Noon Kiwanis Club.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Marion officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: husband, Dennis of the home; sons, Brooks Johnson and Zachary Johnson of the home; mother, Margaret Hazelton of McPherson; father, Gary Brooks and wife, Judy, of Tea, SD; and a brother, Christopher Brooks and wife, Nette, of McPherson.
