James Curtis "Jim" Hensley, 58, of Abilene and formerly of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his home in Abilene. He was a truck driver.
Jim was born on May 5, 1955, in Wichita, KS, the son of Ronald Dean and Phyllis J. (Kennedy) Hensley. He graduated from Valley Center High School in 1973.
Survivors include: fiancé, Diana Slocum of Abilene, KS; mother, Phyllis Severs of McPherson, KS; brother, Kris Severs and wife, Angela, of McPherson, KS; sisters, Lisa Foos and husband, Leroy, of Leavenworth, KS, Kim Lagree of Hays, KS, and Lori Anderson and husband, Kevin, of McPherson, KS; one niece and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Hensley, step-father, Jim C. Severs, infant sister, Teri Hensley, and brother, Kelly Dean Hensley.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Halstead Cemetery with Rev. Jim Keil officiating.
