Hilda M. Bergen

Hilda Marjorie Bergen, 99, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She worked as a nurse aide at McPherson Hospital.

Hilda was born on August 10, 1916, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Martens) Pauls. She was united in marriage to Arthur Melvin Bergen on September 19, 1937. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1971.

She attended Wheatland Baptist Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: sons, Melvin R. Bergen and wife, Darlene, of Inman, KS and Gerald D. Bergen of Waco, TX; daughter, Nadine Suderman of Kansas City, KS; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Anna Pauls; husband, Arthur Bergen; son, Merlyn D. Bergen; brother, John Pauls; and sister, Martha Zilkie.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Buhler Cemetery, Buhler, Kansas with Rev. Terry Post officiating.
