Gregory Lindahl Heitkotter, Sr., 65, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2020, surrounded by family at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born on November 12, 1954, in Smith Center, KS, the son of Perry Bernard and Sylvia Eloise “Peggy” (Marshall) Heitkotter. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1973.
Greg served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Survivors include: five brothers, Kenneth Heitkotter (Willene) of Douglass, KS, Jody Heitkotter (Vanetta) of Hutchinson, KS, Lavon “Skeeter” Heitkotter of McPherson, KS, Galen Heitkotter of McPherson, KS, and Ronald Heitkotter (Connie) of Bay City, CA; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Gregory, Jr. and Lyndon.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at McPherson Cemetery. Military Burial honors will be rendered by members of American Legion Post #24 and VFW Post #2715.
