Glenda Murray

Glenda Elaine Murray, 95, of McPherson, KS, and formerly of Clay Center, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023, surrounded by family at her home. 

Glenda was born on September 11, 1928, in Beatrice, NE, the daughter of Fred Louis and Pauline R. (Schroeder) Cornelius.  On April 19, 1953, Glenda was united in marriage to Richard Allan Murray in Wymore, NE.  This union was blessed with four children, Judith, Sharon, David, and James.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and volunteered at Save ‘N Share and for Meals On Wheels.

Survivors include: her loving husband of 70 years, Richard of the home; four children, Judith Martinez (Pedro) of Copperas Cove, TX, Sharon Peterson (John) of Albuquerque, NM, David Murray (Sondra) of Albuquerque, NM, and James Murray (Elisabeth) of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Sondra Germer (Larry) of Diller, NE; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and a sister.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations can be given to Save ‘N Share in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
