Glen Nelson

Glen E. "Gus" Nelson, 74, of Galva, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. He was a farmer and stockman. He served in the Army National Guard from 1957 to 1963.

Gus was born on September 5, 1935, the son of George A. and Esther (Johnson) Nelson. He graduated from Galva High School in 1953. On June 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Janell Peterson in McPherson.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson.

The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson with Rev. Tim Leaf officiating. A private family burial will be at Empire Cemetery, Galva prior to the memorial service. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include: wife, Janell of the home; sons, Kevin Nelson (Donna) of Galva, KS and Dan Nelson of Galva, KS; grandchildren, Caitlain Nelson, Ryan Nelson, and Tracy Williams; and one great-grandchild, Madison Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Ralph Johnson.
