Gladys S. Naylor, 104, died peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a high school teacher, Executive with Church Women United, and also was a Director with the YWCA.
Gladys was born on February 5, 1918, in Navarre, Kansas, the daughter of Benjamin Hoover and Margaret (Hoffmann) Shank. On May 10, 1942, Gladys was united in marriage to Kurtis Friend Naylor in Navarre, Kansas. They were married 58 years before his passing on February 17, 2001.
She was a graduate of McPherson College and a member of the McPherson Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include: four daughters, Merylee Ortmayer of Lexington, Kentucky; Cherylin Peniston (W.J.) of Thornton, Colorado; Mariza Naylor of Alta Loma, California; and Illana Naylor (Richard Barrett) of Manassas, Virginia; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Beau Ortmayer of Chula Vista, California; Cody Ortmayer of Chula Vista, California; Erin Larkin (James Larkin) and Ava and Nate Larkin of Westminster, Colorado; Geoffry Tolmachoff (Brooke Tolmachoff) and Gretchen and Rhett Tolmachoff of Westminster, Colorado; Rianna Barrett (Chris Schatz) and Connor Schatz of Alexandria, Virginia; Benjamin Barrett of Manassas, Virginia; and Alisa Halferty (Ryan Halferty) and Owen and Dylan Halferty of Durham, North Carolina; and many extended family and friends.
