Gladys “Glady” Illene Huber, 81, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023, surrounded by family at The Cedars, McPherson. She was the Deputy City Clerk for the City of McPherson, retiring in 2005.
Glady was born on August 24, 1941, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Edgar “Dick” and Sophia M. (Smylie) Winn. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1959. On November 26, 1960, Glady was united in marriage to Delmar Dean Huber in McPherson.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 62 years, Delmar; three children, Dawna (Lyndon) Barrow, Dallas (Julie) Huber, and Darci (Ryan) Walker, all of McPherson, KS; two sisters, Marilyn (Laurence) Sand and Frances Duren, all of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, May Huber-Rabon of Roseburg, OR; six grandchildren, Gregg (Kristen) Barrow, Michael (Alycia) Barrow, Austin Huber, Courtney Huber, Dylan (Lauren) Barrow, and Shelby (Zach) Oller; two step-grandchildren, Lindsy (Shawn) Phillips and Codi (Brett) Cusick; ten great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many more extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Donna Winn; parents-in-law, Jonah & Eva Huber and Dayna & Lucille Stump; sister-in-law, Dixie (Clyde) Huber Anthem; brothers-in-law, Jonathan Huber and LaVern (Marilyn) Huber; half-brother-in-law, Mark Stump; and brother-in-law, Robert L. Duren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, January 13, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Emily Spearman Cannon officiating. Inurnment will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
