Gerald M. Sitts

Gerald M. Sitts, 71, of McPherson, passed away peacefully from this life on June 26, 2015, at his home in McPherson. He was retired from CertainTeed Corporation where he had worked for 34 years.

He was born August 23, 1943, in Little River, Kansas, the son of Asa W. and Floriene W. (Kenyon) Sitts. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1961 and also attended McPherson College.

Gerald was an avid bowler and in his spare time, he also enjoyed traveling and boating on various lakes throughout the Midwest. He lived a very simple life and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years.

He was a member of the McPherson VFW Post #2715 Men’s Auxiliary.

Survivors include: two brothers, Ron Sitts of Crestone, CO and Dick Sitts and wife, Jan, of Sedona, AZ, and their children Anthony and Taylor; and two aunts, Betty Harrison and Shirley Bender, both of McPherson, KS. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents.

Inurnment and graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at McPherson Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Following the service, everyone is invited to join the family for a reception/luncheon at the Perkins Restaurant in McPherson.
