Georgianna “Georgi” Peterson, 77, of McPherson, KS, walked into heaven on Monday, November 21, 2022. Georgi retired from Johns Manville where she was an Employee Relations Manager.
Georgi was born on November 18, 1945, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Harry Harold and Alice Elfredia (Wedel) Krehbiel. She graduated from Moundridge High School in 1963 and attended McPherson College. On December 19, 1964, Georgi was united in marriage to Dwayne Richard “Pete” Peterson at the Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge. This union was blessed with two daughters, Rhonda and Melinda.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rhonda (Robert) Dealey of Topeka, KS and Melinda (Michael) Cochran of Yukon, OK; five grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Lowe, Robert Dealey, Cole Cochran, Bryton Cochran, and Anna (Rhett) Bechtel; four great-grandchildren, Elena, Julia, & Nicholas Lowe and Hampton Kate Bechtel; two sisters, Kathy (Greg) Perkins of Fort Worth, TX and Barbara (Richard) Gehring of Lombard, IL; sisters-in-law, Nancy Krehbiel of McPherson, KS and Consuelo Krehbiel of Chicago, IL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Steven Krehbiel and Val Krehbiel.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, November 25, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Leaf and Rev. Barbara Krehbiel Gehring officiating. A private inurnment will be held at New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date.
