George Washington Sullivan, IV, 58, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge. George was a United States Army veteran and supervisor at Ferguson Production in McPherson.
George was born on January 21, 1965, in Ayer, MA, the son of George Washington Sullivan, III and Gloria Eileen (Solomon) Sullivan. He graduated high school in California. On May 5, 2008, George was united in marriage to DeAnna “De” Kay (McCormick) Vogts in Canton, KS. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2017.
George was passionate about dogs, and dogs could sense his love and would always gravitate to wherever he was. When younger, he had two dogs of his own. He collected comic books and sports memorabilia including baseball and football cards. Playing board games and going to car races were enjoyed with family. He had a generous spirit and would give the shirt off his back to help others in need and would give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Survivors include: his mother, Gloria Neal of North Newton, KS; a brother, Dale Grant of Wichita, KS; two nephews, Christopher Sullivan and Justin Sullivan, both of Russell, KS; and several aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, wife, and a brother, Thomas Sullivan.
A service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be given to the First Baptist Church (Newton) in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
