Jake Fitch, 83, of McPherson, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at McPherson Hospital. He was the owner & operator of J & J Pipeline Construction & Supply.
He was born December 9, 1929, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Fred L., Sr. and Martha J. "Jennie" (Campbell) Fitch. He graduated from Adair High School in Adair, Oklahoma.
On July 11, 1954, Jake was united in marriage to Donna L. Josselyn in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Jake was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge #172, Scottish Rite, Isis Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, McPherson Shrine Club, Order of the Eastern Star, the Pipeliner's Hall of Fame, and numerous car clubs.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna of the home; children, Gail Lauderdale (Harvey) of McPherson, KS, Mike Fitch of McPherson, KS, Lesa Fitch of Adair, OK, and Kevin Fitch of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers, and three half-sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, July 5, 2013, at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, followed by a reception and celebration of Jake's life at the Best Western Holiday Manor Convention Center.
