Frances Killion

Frances K. Killion, 90, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Angel Arms, McPherson. She was a retired proof reader for the McPherson Sentinel, working there for many years.

Frances was born on December 10, 1919, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Hazel (Benjamin) Coons. She attended the McPherson schools and graduated from McPherson High School in 1938. On September 4, 1938, she was united in marriage to Wayne Killion, in McPherson, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2008.

She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and taught Sunday School at the First Christian Church.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 26, 2010, at the McPherson Cemetery with Rev. Vernon Holloway officiating. Visitation, with the family present, is from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Monday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.

Survivors include: daughters, Sharon Crawford of Denver, CO and Karen Hawkinson (Doug) of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren, Jeff Hawkinson (Kathy) of McPherson, KS, Phil Hawkinson (Ronda) of Galva, KS, Mike Crawford (Sue) of Westminster, CO, Kathy Crawford of Colorado Springs, CO, and Scott Killion (Rachel) of Denver, CO; six great-grandchildren, Justin Hawkinson, Jami Hawkinson, Carrissa Hawkinson, P.J. Hawkinson, Derek Skinner, and Zachary Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wayne Killion, and a son, Royel Wayne "Butch" Killion.
