Evelyn Slechta

Evelyn M. (Schultz) Slechta, 81, of McPherson and formerly of Ellsworth, died Monday, August 18, 2008, at McPherson Care Center. She was a retired waitress and had worked at several McPherson restaurants including Kemp's, Sir Robert's, and Red Coach.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Private inurnment & committal service will take place at the Frederick Cemetery near Geneseo prior to the memorial service. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include: a son, Danny Slechta and wife, Sue, of McPherson; three daughters, Rickie Slechta of Topeka, Patricia Schafer and husband, Danny, of McPherson, and Carol Thach of Holyrood; a brother, Harold Schultz of Apple Valley, CA; a sister, Edith Tyler of Big Spring, TX; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
