Esther Gray

Esther A. Gray, 88, of McPherson, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at her home in McPherson. She was a homemaker and former U.S. Civil Service payroll clerk.

Esther was born on March 26, 1922, in Belleville, KS, the daughter of Guy and Mattie Noble. She graduated from Belleville, Kansas High School and Brown Mackie College, Salina. On June 13, 1958, she was united in marriage to Billy L. Gray in Junction City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1997.

She was a member of the Christian Women's Club and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the McPherson Cemetery with Rev. Tom Mayse officiating. Visitation is on Tuesday, October 26, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: her sons, Gary Gray (Debbie) of McPherson, KS and Bruce Gray (Trish) of McPherson, KS; brothers, Lloyd Noble (Jean) of Belleville, KS and Harold Noble of Belleville, KS; sister, Violet Awalt of Belleville, KS; and two grandchildren, Megan and Collin Gray of McPherson, KS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy, and a sister, Mable Wakefield.
