Elvina Mae Pauls, daughter of John S. and Helen (Regehr) Pauls, was born on April 1, 1930, in Windom, Kansas. Since she was born on April Fools Day, many family jokes and laughs were made over the years. She grew up on her parents' farms, first at Windom and then east of Inman. Growing up on the farm was great for Elvina, as she enjoyed feeding the chickens and other farm animals and the outdoors. She, along with her siblings, explored the woods and creeks in their pasture. When Elvina's brother, Harvey, got two puppies, he thought they'd be his dogs, but they quickly became Elvina's dogs, and she named them Blacky and Browny. Upon her parents' deaths, she moved to the Pleasant View Home in Inman, Kansas until her passing on September 19, 2009. She was seventy-nine. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Verda Lee Francz and Nelda June Becker.
Survivors include: her sisters, Irene Pauls of Inman, Kansas, Annie Johnson and husband, Everett, of Gypsum, Kansas, and Virginia Rahn and husband, Ivan, of Booneville, Indiana; brother, Harvey Pauls and wife, Mary Anne, of Georgetown, Texas; several nieces & nephews, including Bruce Becker and wife, Bev, of McPherson, Kansas; and numerous cousins.
Elvina was always fun loving, made friends easily, and had a great sense of humor. She very much loved the many friends she made at Pleasant View Home.
The family expresses deep appreciation for all the kindnesses shown to Elvina and the family during her life and in their time of bereavement. They give special appreciation to the care shown to them by Hospice Care of Kansas during Elvina's final days.
