Edwina "Eddie" Howard

Edwina “Eddie” Sue Howard, 62, of Galva, KS, and formerly of Lochbuie, CO and McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, surrounded by family at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS. She worked as a claim’s liaison coordinator at Viega.

Eddie was born on October 2, 1961, in Beloit, KS, the daughter of Raymond Keith and Betty Jean (Bisnett) Burch. She graduated from Canton-Galva High School in 1979. On April 1, 1978, Eddie was united in marriage to James “Jim” A. Koehn in Canton, KS. This union was blessed with two daughters, Treva and Aubrey. On May 6, 2006, Eddie married David W. Howard in Eureka Springs, AR. 

She was a member of the Canton Christian Church.

Survivors include: her loving husband, David Howard; daughters, Treva (Eric) Norstrom of Galva, KS and Aubrey (Kirk) Craig of McPherson, KS; seven grandchildren, Taryn (Brandon), Ryder, Kourtney, Mimi, Red, Paxton, and Avery; siblings, Dianna (Randall) Unruh of Theodosia, MO, Jeanie (Tim) Nelson of Chelsea, OK, Sheila (Ron) Leduc of Assaria, KS and Kim (Russell) Nightingale of Galva, KS; sister-in-law, Terri Burch of Trinidad, CO; mother-in-law, Frances Dean of Wichita, KS; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Keith Burch, and father-in-law, Wiley Dean.

A celebration of Eddie’s life (come & go) will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2024, at The Yard, 108 W. 2nd St., Galva, KS 67443. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Galva Fire Department or McPherson EMS in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
