Edward E. Oswald

Edward Eugene Oswald, 84, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Colorado and Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2019, surrounded by family at his home in McPherson. A McPherson resident since 1999, he had worked for McPherson County Public Works in the road and bridge maintenance department.

Edward was born on July 17, 1935, in Urich, MO, the son of Edward Thomas and Sophia Elizabeth (Kantner) Oswald. He was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Henrietta Browning on May 18, 1968, in Germantown, MO.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #5222 (both of McPherson), and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army National Guard.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 51 years, Pat of the home; son, Steve Oswald (Shari) of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Karen Caylor (Mark) of Bend, OR and Angela Oswald of Raytown, MO; brother, Robert Oswald (Cheryl) of Urich, MO; sister, Mary Jo Smith of Durango, CO; mother-in-law, Madelon Browning of Urich, MO; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Chuck Smith.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 20, 2019, at Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Clinton, MO with Rosary to follow at 10:40 AM and Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 AM with Father Jim Taranto officiating.
