Edith C. Huff, 75, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2012, surrounded by her family at her home in McPherson. She had worked for Kit Road Ranger as a department leader in cabinetry. She also had worked at Midtec and was a school bus monitor for the Head Start Program.
Edith was born on April 21, 1936, in Casper, Wyoming, the daughter of Leo and Erma Lee (McCully) Collins. On November 12, 1952, Edith was united in marriage to James D. Huff in Chickasha, OK. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2009.
Survivors include: five sons, Ronnie Huff (Lisa) of McPherson, KS, Steven Huff (Donna) of McPherson, KS, Phil Huff (Brandi) of Moundridge, KS, Donald Huff (Denise) of McPherson, KS, and Ricky Huff (Crystal) of McPherson, KS; three daughters, Mary Gesaman of McPherson, KS, Kathy Grant (Lance) of Canton, KS, and Janette Smith (James) of McPherson, KS; half-sister, Darlene Hutchison of Trenton, MO; 39 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, granddaughter, Karrie Ann (Huff) Dooley, and great-granddaughter, Shaylynn Widener.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 2, 2012, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
