Edison H. "Eddie" Balzer, 77, of McPherson and formerly of Hillsboro, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Infinia. in McPherson. He was a retired auto mechanic and had worked at several area car dealerships including Fred McKenna and Wallace Chevrolet-Oldsmobile. He also was a security guard at the NCRA Refinery and was co-owner & operator of Mac Communications.
The memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 26, at Grace Bible Church, McPherson. Graveside service and inurnment will be at the French Creek Cemetery near Hillsboro at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, prior to the memorial service. There will be no visitation.
Survivors include: his wife, Elmira of the home; two sons, Curtis Balzer of McPherson and Craig Taylor of Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Connie Humes of Topeka, KS and Jan Opstedt of Yuma, AZ; two step-sons, Harold Carter of Hillsboro, KS and Tony Carter of Salina, KS; two step-daughters, Linda Kissick of Marquette, KS and Dianna Carter of McPherson, KS; seven grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
