Dwight J. Pierce, 91, of McPherson, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005, at Infinia, McPherson. He is the son of Leslie C. and Ethyl (Jacobs) Pierce. He was united in marriage to Marjorie M. Bowers at McPherson on September 7, 1941. Dwight had managed Select Dairy, McPherson, owned Newton Dairy, Newton, KS, was a salesman for Wichita Paper Co. for 16 years, and was a salesman and owner of M-D Assoc. Dwight served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, 12 TAC 14th Air Force.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Noon Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post #24, V.F.W. Post #2715, volunteered with S.C.O.R.E. program, and was a former member of the Barbershop Chorus, all of McPherson.
The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, October 17, 2005, at the First Christian Church, McPherson. Burial with military honors will be at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.
Survivors include: his wife, Marjorie of the home; two sons, Dwight J. Pierce and wife, Lana, of Goddard, KS and Charles Pierce and wife, Jackie, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a daughter, Suzanne Kaliszewski and husband, Chuck, of Houston, TX; sister, Iona Guse' of McPherson; brother, Keith Pierce of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and seven great-grandchildren.
